5 Free Downloads from Ticketmaster Live

Hey guys, this is another freebie for those with Facebook accounts (and US iTunes Store accounts of course). If you head over to the Ticketmaster Live group and join the group, there will be a link at the top of the page which you can click on to get an iTunes code valid for 5 free downloads (0.99¢ - $1.29 value). It looks like this:

and once you click it, the area should be changed to this:

Clicking on the Redeem button takes you to the iTunes store.

Now on the off chance that the free offer doesn't appear for you, it might be that Facebook/Ticketmaster couldn't figure out that you live in the US. Here's a little trick that I came up with in Mozilla Firefox to get past this. First, right click in the news area (make sure it's not on a picture) and open the frame in a new tab (or window).

Switch to the tab/window, change the value for user_country to USA&V5 and press enter. Once the page finishes loading, you should see the free offer link. Note that this trick won't help you get the free offer more than once. Sorry!

Update: From the comments (Thanks for the info various Anonymous posters!), it seems as though you need to be on a school (college?) network in order to get the offer from Ticketmaster. I've gotten the downloads successfully, and I have a college network tied to my account.

can you use these credits to download tv shows too? or just music.

I think it's gone. Everytime I go, I get an advertisement for Avenged Sevenfold not the free tunes ;(

Update: just worked for me, but doesn't work on anything but songs.

Doesn't work for me, there's alot of info if you search for it on Yahoo but none of it is working right now.... some people think you have to have a .edu account or have been a member for a while so i'm not sure

I figured it out now... you have to have a .edu email account. It doesn't matter how long you've had it because I just signed one up and it worked, this a great find

I know for a fact that you don't need a .edu address, because I don't have one linked to my facebook account and I had no problems getting my five-song credit. I think it might depend on how long you've been registered on facebook, or what kind of network you are in. I believe they were having problems with fake email accounts being registered on facebook in order to get the free songs.

no .edu address...

no network.

been on for 3 months - got my credits.

Any ideas? Someone?

If anybody will be so nice please give me the code and send it to trexbiker@interia.pl

Many thanks.

So please tell me what i'm doing wrong:

1. I crate new account,
2. Find the "face book live group", then,
3. Open i new bar and add "USA&V5"
(i also have to change address from "...index2.php.." to "...index.php..."
4. I click on the iTunes button,
5. Then click "join" and I'm back to the main page with no iTunes code - the page is the same like on begin

I'm guessing it has to be on a school network. I am on a high school network and it worked fine for me.

I have just a gmail email and I'm not a student and it worked fine for me.

You have to have had your account for "a substantial amount of time" in order for the offer to work.

Basically you can't go and make new accounts over and over.

You need to have had a facebook account for a amount of time. I made one for the codes, my sister has had one. It worked for her. Not for me!

What you have to do is verify your account. the easiest way to do this is to add a friend and when it asks for confirmation click verify my account instead of typing in the code. (This requires a cell phone)

I got it to work w/o having a college account. just save the code it gives you and go into itunes music store and click the "redeem" link and put the code in. 5 credits. no prob. thanks for the tip!

I can confirm that it also works with the cell phone verification, and also the .edu work as well. You don't have to have it for a certain amount of time because I've created 4 accounts and instantly redeemed the codes, you can only use that cell phone once though. You could probably use a friends cell phone though as they only send you one text message with a code that you can type into the website to verify.

I've tried removing the cell phone, deleting the account and then re-using the cell phone but no luck so far. Yea, I've had some extra time on my hands so I've really been experimenting with it.

It isn't working for me. I've had my account for two years, it's a school account, and I changed the country code. I don't know what else to try, but I want those songs!
