Episode Summary
A showdown of two of the NHL's top superstars has surely lived up to the hype. In Game 2, Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby would match each other with hat tricks, but in the end the Washington Capitals had a 4-3 win over the Pittsburg Penguins. Crosby scored his first goal in the first period on a power play, and Ovechkin scored his first early in the second period to tie the game at 1. Crosby's second goal of the night midway through the second resotred Pittsburgh's one goal lead, until David Steckel tied the game less than five minutes later. The third period belonged to Ovechkin, as he struck again with a power-play goal midway through the period, and completed his hat trick less than three minutes later to give the Capitals a 4-2 lead. Not to be outdone, Crosby recorded his hat trick with a power-play goal with 30 seconds left. Unfortunately, that's all the offense the Penguins could muster, and the Capitals skated away with a thrilling 4-3 victory.
